{"id":1840,"date":"2025-11-26T08:05:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T08:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tona.today\/?p=1840"},"modified":"2025-11-26T01:14:32","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T01:14:32","slug":"five-police-officers-killed-in-bauchi-bandit-ambush","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tona.today\/?p=1840","title":{"rendered":"Five police officers killed in Bauchi bandit ambush"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the death of five officers and the neutralisation of several bandits following an ambush in Sabon Sara village, Darazo Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Asake - Organise (Official Video)\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_u4_iWCvZ5c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Wakil, the incident occurred on November 22, 2025, when combined police tactical units, acting on intelligence, embarked on a visibility patrol to prevent and manage farmer\u2013herder conflict around the Sabon Sara axis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said a distress report from a Good Samaritan earlier alerted the Command that personnel from the Rapid Response Squad; 10 PMF, Bauchi; the Anti-Kidnapping Unit; and the State Intelligence Department had been ambushed by unidentified Fulani youths during the operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ambush led to the death of five officers: Ahmad Muhammad (SID), ASP Mustapha Muhammad (10 PMF), Inspector Amarhel Yunusa (10 PMF), Inspector Idris Ahmed (10 PMF), and Corporal Isah Muazu (AKU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe injured are currently receiving medical attention, while the bodies of the fallen officers have been deposited at the mortuary.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that efforts were underway to track and apprehend the attackers, assuring the public that the police command remained committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wakil noted that the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, had visited the scene for an on-the-spot assessment and commiserated with the families of the slain officers, while restating the command\u2019s resolve to uphold its mandate of protecting lives and property. <a href=\"https:\/\/punchng.com\/five-police-officers-killed-in-bauchi-bandit-ambush\/?utm_source=auto-read-also&amp;utm_medium=web\">(Punch)<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the death of five officers and the neutralisation of several bandits following an ambush in Sabon Sara village, Darazo Local Government Area of the state.
