Jim Carrey\u00a0is zooming toward a live-action feature version of\u00a0The Jetsons.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The actor is in talks to star in the project from\u00a0Warner Bros.\u00a0Pictures that has\u00a0Colin Trevorrow\u00a0attached to direct. Trevorrow and Joe Esptein are in talks to pen the script.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jetsons<\/em>, which debuted\u00a0as an animated comedy series\u00a0on ABC in 1962, centered on a futuristic family comprised of George Jetson, wife Jane, their two kids, robot housekeeper Rosie and dog Astro. Hanna-Barbera produced the Space Age show that counted William Hanna and Joseph Barbera as co-creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in 2017, ABC\u00a0ordered a pilot\u00a0for a live-action television version from executive producer Robert Zemeckis. The project did not end up going to series.at counted William Hanna and Joseph Barbera as co-creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carrey\u2019s recent film credits have mostly been limited to his portrayal of Dr. Robotnik in Paramount\u2019s live-action Sonic the Hedgehog<\/em> franchise, with the actor playing a dual role in last year\u2019s third theatrical installment. Carrey\u2019s last movie outside of the Sonic<\/em> series was the drama Dark Crimes<\/em> that made its festival premiere in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trevorrow\u2019s latest feature as a director was 2022\u2019s Jurassic World Dominion. <\/em>Epstein served as showrunner and executive producer of the HBO series The Idol.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
