Apple<\/em>\u00a0that\u00a0blocked Apple\u00a0from collecting fees on purchases outside of apps, Sweeney said that\u00a0<em>Fortnite<\/em>\u00a0would return to the US App Store\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/659271\/fortnite-ios-apple-app-store-us-return\">\u201c<\/a>next week<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/659271\/fortnite-ios-apple-app-store-us-return\">.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0(Apple has\u00a0appealed the ruling.) But Apple terminated Epic\u2019s App Store developer account\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2020\/8\/28\/21406013\/apple-epic-games-fortnite-developer-account-terminated-no-longer-available\">in <\/a>2020\u00a0after Epic introduced an in-app payment system\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2020\/8\/13\/21366259\/epic-fortnite-vbucks-mega-drop-discount-iphone-android\">into\u00a0<\/a><em>Fortnite<\/em>\u00a0that ultimately led to\u00a0the whole legal battle, so it was unclear how Epic might bring the game back to the US App Store until Sweeney\u2019s post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tiwa Savage - You4Me (Official Lyric Video)\" width=\"980\" height=\"735\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JF3aUxOWgwk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have conversed with Apple on the topic,\u201d Sweeney said in an X post over the weekend. He noted that Epic created its Sweden account last year so it could launch the Epic Games Store and\u00a0<em>Fortnite<\/em>\u00a0in the EU.
