TMZ was\u00a0first to report\u00a0the news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Asake - Organise (Official Video)\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_u4_iWCvZ5c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_6-0\">Kidman filed for divorce on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in Nashville, where the couple has lived since 2007, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. She listed their date of separation as the date of filing, and cited irreconcilable differences as reason for the split.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_8-0\">The pair were married in June 2006 after meeting at a gala in Los Angeles the year prior, and share daughters\u00a0Sunday Rose, 17, and\u00a0Faith Margaret, 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_10-0\">A source\u00a0previously told PEOPLE\u00a0that Kidman, 58, &#8220;didn&#8217;t want this,&#8221; and had been &#8220;fighting to save the marriage.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_12-0\">&#8220;Nicole\u2019s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and\u00a0the entire Kidman family has come together\u00a0to support one another,&#8221; the source added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_15-0\">The filing comes after a summer apart, as Kidman was filming\u00a0<em>Practical Magic 2<\/em>\u00a0in London and Urban, 57, was traveling on his\u00a0High and Alive World Tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_17-0\">Kidman and Urban often spoke about their bond in the press, with the actress telling PEOPLE in 2024 that she was &#8220;so lucky that I have Keith\u00a0who&#8217;s just my love, my deep, deep love.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_22-0\">Ahead of the 2024 Met Gala, Kidman added that she\u00a0overcomes her nerves\u00a0ahead of the annual event by &#8220;[having] my man with me.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_24-0\">A second source told PEOPLE after the pair&#8217;s separation that their separation\u00a0&#8220;really hasn&#8217;t been a secret,&#8221;\u00a0and the stars have &#8220;been\u00a0living separately for a while now.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_26-0\">\u201cPeople close to Keith felt like the split was kind of inevitable,\u201d the source added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_28-0\">Reps for Kidman and Urban did not respond to PEOPLE&#8217;s request for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_30-0\">The separation came just three months after Kidman celebrated the couple&#8217;s 19th wedding anniversary with a sweet Instagram post of the pair cuddling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_32-0\">\u201cHappy Anniversary Baby \u2764\ufe0f @KeithUrban,\u201d she captioned the post at the time. <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/nicole-kidman-files-for-divorce-keith-urban-11821132\">(People)<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nicole Kidman\u00a0and\u00a0Keith Urban\u00a0are getting divorced.
