Among soundtracks, ARIA reports, that effort equals the nine week run by the 1997 soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Romeo &amp; Juliet<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u201cGolden\u201d Official Lyric Video | KPop Demon Hunters | Sony Animation\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yebNIHKAC4A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the ARIA Charts were first published in 1983, only four soundtracks have logged more weeks at the top, according to the charts compiler: the Australian cast recording of&nbsp;<em>Jesus Christ Superstar<\/em>&nbsp;(10 weeks in 1992); plus&nbsp;<em>Titanic<\/em>&nbsp;(1998),&nbsp;<em>Moulin Rouge<\/em>&nbsp;(2001) and&nbsp;<em>A Star Is Born<\/em>&nbsp;(2018), which each led for 11 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the top track from\u00a0<em>KPop Demon Hunters<\/em>, \u201cGolden,\u201d reigns over the\u00a0ARIA Singles Chart\u00a0for a ninth consecutive week. That\u2019s closing in on the all-time mark for a hit from an animated film, currently set at 12 weeks by Pharrell Williams\u2019 2014 single \u201cHappy\u201d from\u00a0<em>Despicable Me 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back with the\u00a0ARIA Albums Chart, Ocean Alley\u2019s\u00a0<em>Love Balloon<\/em>\u00a0(via Community Music) lifts off for a No. 3 debut, the highest start for any new release on the current frame, published Friday, Sept. 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recorded in three stints over about three months,\u00a0<em>Love Balloon<\/em>\u00a0is\u00a0Ocean Alley\u2019s\u00a0fifth studio album, and first recorded with legendary American rock producer Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against The Machine).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With that bright start,<em>&nbsp;Love Balloon<\/em>&nbsp;is the Sydney indie-rock outfit\u2019s third consecutive collection to hit No. 3, following 2020\u2019s<em>&nbsp;Lonely Diamond<\/em>&nbsp;and 2022\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Low Altitude Living<\/em>.&nbsp;Their breakthrough second album from 2018,&nbsp;<em>Chiaroscuro<\/em>, which housed the triple j Hottest 100 leader \u201cConfidence,\u201d reached No. 11 on the national survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ocean Alley scores silverware as\u00a0<em>Love Balloon<\/em>\u00a0is crowned on the\u00a0ARIA Top 20 Australian Albums\u00a0chart, a feat they celebrated Saturday at\u00a0London\u2019s Alexandra Palace, with a headline show for more than 8,000 fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also debuting in the top tier is\u00a0Cardi B\u2018s sophomore studio album,\u00a0<em>Am I The Drama?<\/em>\u00a0(Atlantic\/Warner), new at No. 8. Drama is the followup to the Bronx rapper\u2019s 2018,\u00a0<em>Invasion Of Privacy<\/em>, which peaked at No. 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trent Reznor\u2019s\u00a0Nine Inch Nails\u00a0bags a top 10 with the soundtrack to\u00a0<em>TRON: Ares<\/em>\u00a0(Interscope\/Universal). It\u2019s new at No. 10 for the American industrial rock act\u2019s sixth top tier effort in Australia, a tally that includes a best of No. 2 for 1999\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Fragile<\/em>. Daft Punk\u2019s soundtrack to\u00a0<em>TRON: Legacy<\/em>\u00a0reached No. 17 in 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lola Young\u00a0just misses out on a top 10 berth with\u00a0<em>I\u2019m Only F\u2014ing Myself<\/em>\u00a0(Island\/Universal), her third album. It\u2019s new at No. 12, for the British singer\u2019s first ARIA Albums Chart appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further down the list, published late Friday, September 26th, Brisbane band Platonic Sex crack the top 40 with their debut album\u00a0<em>Face To The Flywire<\/em>\u00a0(Orchard).
