Barcelona&#8217;s&nbsp;Lamine Yamal,18, was runner-up after being voted the best young player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Yemi Alade - Tomorrow (Official Music Video)\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/G4u2yMsPdG8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A tearful Dembele collected the prize in Paris in front of a partisan crowd that chanted his name. If not for injury, he would have been playing for PSG in Marseille in a rearranged league fixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barcelona and Spain midfielder Bonmati becomes the first woman to win the Ballon d&#8217;Or for three consecutive years. Lionel Messi and Michel Platini are the only men to have achieved that feat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s incredible this feeling. I never thought when I was a kid that I could achieve this because I didn&#8217;t think women&#8217;s football can exist,&#8221; Bonmati said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I had idols like Andres Iniesta and Xavi and when I was a kid I only saw them on TV. It&#8217;s incredible to be here and make history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;But all of these trophies are because of collective work. We had a difficult season because we won some trophies, but we also lost some to amazing footballers.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arsenal and England&#8217;s Alessia Russo got the better of Bonmati in the Champions League and Euros finals, but finished third in the women&#8217;s rankings. Her club-mate, Mariona Caldentey of Spain, came second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lionesses head coach\u00a0Sarina Wiegman<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>was named best women&#8217;s coach after England&#8217;s triumph over Spain in Switzerland, while PSG boss\u00a0Luis Enrique\u00a0picked up the men&#8217;s Johan Cruyff award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>England and Chelsea&#8217;s\u00a0Hannah Hampton<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>won the inaugural award for best women&#8217;s goalkeeper, with Man City&#8217;s\u00a0Gianluigi Donnarumma\u00a0picking up the seventh edition of the men&#8217;s prize for his season with PSG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former Lionesses keeper Mary Earps was on stage presenting the award to Hampton, who took her spot as England&#8217;s No 1 ahead of the Euros,\u00a0prompting her to retire from international football five weeks before the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arsenal and PSG won the awards for women&#8217;s and men&#8217;s club of the year after their Champions League successes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Viktor Gyokeres&#8217;\u00a063 goals for Sporting and Sweden last season earned him the men&#8217;s Gerd Muller Trophy.
